Kath came to Pilates during her career as an Aerial Circus performer. It helped her recover from a back injury thus prolonging her career. Kath has always been fascinated by movement and regularly attends courses to remain at the forefront of cutting-edge movement science.
For over 20 years, Kath has done extensive Pilates training with Pilates Foundation, Pilates Institute, Stott Pilates and Polestar Pilates (She co-ran a Polester teacher training host centre for 6 years).
Covering many and varied training, on all the large Pilates equipment and small equipment including special populations, Women's Health, Osteoporosis, Pre- and Postnatal, C-section & Diastasis Recti, Pink Ribbon Rehab for Breast Cancer, and many other musculoskeletal conditions.
Kath is also qualified in Champissage, NLP, The Franklin Method & the Hendrickson method.
Kath practices Mindful self compassion which blends through all of her teaching and has a strong interest in the link between Brain Development and movement in the Early Years. Kath is a mum to Archie, she likes adventures, to run, swim outdoors, she is a keen gardener & cook.
Ian does Admin at the Studio so he is quite likely to be your first point of contact on phone or email and can advise on what might suit you best and where to go to book appointments etc.
Gaynor has been teaching Pilates at Bristol University Sports Medicine Centre for the last 15 years. She also ran her own studio, Chew Valley Pilates.
After moving to Bristol in 1997, she continued to teach professional independent dance classes as well as teaching A level dance. She also taught contemporary dance technique, choreography and Pilates on the BA Dance course at Bath Spa University.
She is a fully comprehensive trained Pilates teacher and trained with Suzanne Scott (2000-2002) accredited by the Pilates Foundation.
Gaynor moved to Otley in September 2018. She is excited to be teaching as part of the team at Headingley Pilates.
