We have a collective of weekend workshop facilitators – everything from Sound Bath, Birth Preparation, Somatics, Yin Yoga, Mindfulness, Aerial Pilates and The Franklin Method. New disciplines are added all the time & we welcome new facilitators to join us.

A Private session is the best, most effective way to start your journey with Headingley Pilates. You will work individually, with a highly qualified and experienced trainer, to uncover imbalances in the body and assess any issues or health conditions you may have. You will work together to set some goals and discuss the best route to achieve them. The personal attention and unique talents of your trainer will fast track your progress, supporting you to achieve new patterns and rapid, lasting changes.
This class is a bespoke workout and falls between 121 and group classes. The gym sessions have a maximum of 4 students, each individual following a tailor-made plan. This is the traditional way of working within a Pilates studio, using all the large apparatus.
A screening and two 121 sessions are required before joining. It is recommended to have approximately four 121s each year to update and refresh your programme and to set new targets to get the maximum benefit from these sessions. This is the best step down from working 121, as it is cheaper and encourages more independence, but still with close attention and support.

HANNA SOMATICS CLASSES
Somatics is a very effective form of mindbody movement re-education that goes to the root cause of muscular pain.
Slow, gentle movements are carried out with conscious awareness, to retrain the brain to let go of chronic excessive muscle tension created in your unconscious mind. This effectively resolves many health issues such as muscular pain and stiffness, joint problems, headaches and postural imbalances. After a session you are likely to feel more balanced, relaxed and at ease.
STUDIO EQUIPMENT
This class is a circuit class that gives you all the benefits of working out in a fully-equipped apparatus Pilates studio,in a class environment. After a group warm-up, everyone does a set of exercises in a rotation on the equipment. A Studio Equipment class is for a maximum of six people.
PRE AND POSTNATAL
Our pre-natal classes are a combination of Pilates, breathing exercises, self-care, labour preparation, pelvic floor training and maintaining ease in the body to enjoy your pregnancy.
Post-natal classes Bring Your Baby: Restore Your Body after pregnancy and labour, rebuilding the abdominal musculature with specialist exercises to heal Pelvic Floor, Diastasis Recti, C section for example. Maintaining good posture for all the demands of motherhood, guidance and exercises for good feeding posture, safe baby carrying and protecting the lower back whilst lifting baby in and out of car seats and cots.
Free cuppa and biscuit after class and time to chat and bond with other mothers.
PILATES MAT WITH OOV
Mat classes are the most commonly known of the Pilates classes and are the most accessible as they are done lying on the floor, just with a Mat.
Our classes use a variety of small equipment such as spikey balls, dyna bands, rollers etc to add challenge and variety but also to help support the body to achieve good technique. Maximum ten people per class.
The Oov is a unique product developed by an Australian osteopath. It works by activating your core stabilising muscles whilst gently extending the spine to stimulate healthy intervertebral disc lubrication. It's very relaxing and has a profound effect on posture. It is also excellent for improving conditions such as scoliosis, kyphosis etc.
FRANKLIN METHOD®
The Franklin Method® uses Dynamic Neuro-cognitive Imagery™, anatomical embodiment and educational skills to create lasting positive change in your body and mind.
The Franklin Method® is at the forefront of practical neuro-plasticity; showing you how to use your brain to improve your body’s function.
The Franklin Method® teaches dynamic alignment and how to move your body with maximum efficiency to keep your body youthful and energised. Your whole body is part of a symphony of coordinated movement. In a sense, your posture is reinvented at every instant. In every moment, the ideal combination of limbs, joints, gravity, moving parts, connective tissue, and muscle must be found and directed by your brain and nervous system. The workshops are on all areas of your body, but they are taught as part of the whole interconnected fascial web that we inhabit.
HENDRICKSON
Is a gentle yet relaxing treatment for restricted joint movement and painful muscular conditions.
It includes specific protocols for treating acute and chronic joint problems that are efficient and effective in reducing pain and restoring normal movement.
It also uses several unique soft tissue mobilisation and wave techniques to release and unwind long-standing held patterns of tension within the body. It is effective on most musculoskeletal disorders and brings profound freedom from pain and greater range of movement ease to the body. It is pleasant to receive, leaving you with a sense of calmness and greater wellbeing.
SOUND BATH
Sound baths are extremely effective in encouraging greater relaxation and releasing tension. Unlike other meditations you don’t have to do anything other than lie down and listen. It is a fast, effective and easy way to enter a deeply meditative state.
Attendees describe the experience as ‘mind-emptying’ rather than mindful, saying that after a session, your brain actually feels clear and light.
The sounds are completely enveloping; like a sonic massage, but without being touched. During a session, your dominant brainwave frequencies are lowered. When the mind enters this state, the body responds by going into ‘repair-mode’: boosting neurotransmitters, flushing out cortisol and enhancing the immune system.
There is a healthy amount of research around sound healing. It has been shown to be effective in decreasing stress and anxiety. It has also been proven to be more effective at lowering heart rate and blood pressure than a physical massage. Sound Tonic Sound Baths use Himalayan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls and some gentle percussion. It’s an amazing treat for the self.
Studio hire
Our Studio is also available to book if you want to run a workshop or Yoga or Pilates etc event. Equipment can be provided or the space can be cleared to offer an open space. We can cater for parties e.g. hen dos, big birthday parties, fundraising events, day retreats. Please contact us to discuss a memorable bespoke service just for you.
